Kapil Dev has captained the Indian Cricket Team that won the 1983 Cricket world cup, and in the process became the first captain to win the cricket world cup, and is still the youngest captain at the Age of 24 Years to win the world cup for any team. He retired in 1994, he had a world record for taking most wickets in Test cricket.
At that time, he had become India’s highest wicket-taker in Tests and ODI. West Indies were double contenders in the 1983 world cup, but gave a befitting reply in India. He was the first player to take 200 wickets in ODI. He is the only player in the History of cricket who has taken more than 400 wickets (434) and also scored 5,000 Runs, Making him one of the greatest All Rounders in the history of cricket.
He is the Most successful All Rounder in the India Team. He was the coach of the Indian National Team between September 1999 and September 2000.
